Ha! Wow.

Hey, did your Camaro have an “assist” spring on your clutch pedal? Did you remove it, by any chance? The pedal on the SS kind of “jumps” on initial release from the floor , and I’m thinking ditching the spring might fix that.

I don’t know, never had any issues with clutch feel or travel, very linear.

Had the clutch pedal randomly becoming stiff (like there was a hard spring under the clutch pedal) when i was clutching “violently” and staying stiff until i would do another spirited clutching sort of unlocking it back.

At first i thought that it was the clutch itself or an hydraulic issue then i did saw the over-center spring under the clutch pedal which in my case has two springs... on a plastic casing (i think that one of the moving parts was locking one of the spring deployed when it should have compressed or something like that) :

While i couldn’t see anything seemingly abnormal while operating the pedal with my hand, i did rotate it ~45° and sprayed some silicon oil on it, i think that i still had the issue once or twice soon after doing that but since then (more than 6 months) it didn’t come back so i believe that it was the culprit.

I just hope that it’s not something else related to the cold that will come back with the winter.

Gotcha. I found a forum thread about it; I think I’m going to pull it.

Yours may not have it because it’s much more track-focused.

Yeah, hopefully not.

What I’m feeling is a “feature” to make clutch effort less, but it gives an unnatural feel early in clutch pedal release.

In my case it’s supposed to be both making it softer at some point and harder at another so the pedal feel stays about the same from the start to the end of the pedal press/release and returning the pedal properly, i think that it might actually be worse in your case without it (if it’s working in a similar fashion as mine) .

The spring model on my car is specific to the V6s TDI and the RS4 (they both have the same clutch) , there’s at least one other model for cars with smaller clutche s.

For example, this is the model used on petrol engines and the 1.9 TDI  :

The spring on mine is not nearly as complex as the ones you’re showing.
